The San Leandro Church of Christ will be hosting a hybrid prayer vigil/demonstration on Wednesday night August 12th from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. in front of the church building at the corner of MacArthur Blvd. and Lewis Avenue (601 MacArthur Blvd. in San Leandro.)
We will be offering prayers for the dismantling of systemic racial injustice in America and for the families of those who have died recently due to racism and/or police brutality. We will chant the names of those we’ve lost and speak briefly about their lives.
Masks will be required, and we will observe social distancing. People of all faith backgrounds are encouraged to attend. If you would like, bring a sheltered candle and a sign with the name of one of those who have recently died.
There will also be a "wall of names" where you will have the opportunity to write the names of people you want memorialized who died due to racism or police brutality.
