Resources
to Help Us Listen and Learn about Racial Justice
The resources on this page are collected for your consideration, and to perhaps challenge your thinking. Some contain differing viewpoints, and may look at various aspects of our society differently from each other. Investigate the material with an open mind and heart, ready to listen to some ideas that may challenge you. Finally, we pray that this will lead you to find ways to act that demonstrate compassion and understanding, so we can reverse the tide of injustice.
We believe that this is what God wants us to do.
Listening Summits
The San Leandro Church of Christ hosted two “Listening Summits for Racial Justice” in June 2020. We heard from both black and white community members as well as speakers from law enforcement, education, and local government. In addition to listening to others’ stories, we heard about action steps that we all can do to advance racial justice in our society.
Our first Summit was held June 14, 2020. Below is an audio recording. (There was a technical difficulty with the video recording.)
Listening Summit 1 6-14-2020
