Ministries -> Youth Ministry

Youth have their own special activities and classes at the San Leandro Church of Christ, but they are also drawn into the larger life of the congregation by the adults who make it a point to get to know them. Our Sunday morning and Wed. night classes combine middle schoolers and high schoolers for lessons relating Bible teachings to their everyday lives. Occasional weekend youth rallies at area churches, youth retreats and Christian summer camps build relationships and unity. The youth participate along with the children and their parents in our family fun days and our service projects. They learn compassion by serving the homeless, boxing groceries for the needy, and cheering up senior citizens in the nursing home. They also gain confidence by performing at the “Leadership Training for Christ” conference, displaying their talents in various areas such as drama, singing, art, speech and puppets. Some of our youth enjoy helping with Bible Hour which is our program for children during the sermon time of Sunday morning worship.

The San Leandro Church of Christ is like one big extended family where each adult reaches out to our young people and makes them feel welcome and a part of things. It is a great place for youth to grow and be nurtured by Christian role models of all ages!
